Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actor, dancer and singer since the early 1990s. One of her first Broadway shows included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In her performance as Essie In You Can't Take It With You she received the Tony Award. Annaleigh Ashford Tony Award winner actor has worked alongside well-known directors and actors in stage films and television. The award-winning actress continues her career through her forthcoming projects. Ashford will next be seen with Kumail Nannjiani as part of Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is in the production of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust which also features Sarah Paulson. The film is scheduled to air on Disney DTC as an Hulu Original. Ashford is set to appear as Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the March 2023 revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. This production will be directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that produced Hamilton. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the scandal which included Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. She was the star of two seasons on CBS comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous performers Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford won the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her portrayal of Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are amongst her additional Broadway performances. Her birthplace and childhood was in Denver Ashford now splits her days between Los Angeles and New York.
